New big boy car seat!

Don't worry, we were parked so I had the seat turned towards me to play with him. He likes this seat so much better! He had not yet reached the weight limit, but he was pushing the height limit, so we went ahead and switched. Even though the Orbit car seats were pretty pricy, in our opinion we got everything we paid for.

LOVES to watch the dogs play fetch

He laughs every time one of them jumps up to get the toy I was throwing. He's got a laugh like his mama- loud and whole hearted.

This picture does not do justice to how covered he really is

I know there is a way out of here!!!

Playing with food...

is highly encouraged at our house! It's what we do everyday :)

Coolest. Bag. Ever.

Mama's new haircut

Whit has been sick for a few days, so Field has been going with my parents all day while I have been running the shop (except today, when Whit was well enough to keep up with Field, but not well enough to be handling other people's food). He is normally with me everyday, all day, so it has been different only seeing him for a while in the morning, and then a short time in the evening.

The decision to "stay at home" or not is such an individual one, and these last few days have really shown me that we have made the right one for us. I'm not really "at home" with Field, but I do have him on my hip probabally 90% of the time he is awake, whether we are at home or at the shop. Even though having him at the shop can be really challenging, it is worth all the work it takes. I am so very thankful that God had provided me with so much patience and an intense multi-tasking ability. I am so thankful to get to spend so much time with my beautiful baby boy.

Oh yeah, and I got a serious haircut! I am very excited about it, and I feel like it shows maturity on my part. Why, you ask? Well, I have finally let go of wanting long, sexy, movie-stylish hair and opted instead for a practical (and hopefully slightly stylish and sexy) haircut. A haircut that I can actually handle fixing on a daily basis, rather than ending up in a pony tail - not sexy when paired with yoga pants and no make-up 6 out of 7 days/week. Not falling into the "I'm a mom now, so I don't make time to take care of myself" (not to mention simultaneous business owner) trap is hard work!  So far, so good!

Totally ready for finger foods

Field is very much enjoying learning how to feed himself. He is a relatively slow eater, pausing to chat with Maggie or to um, relieve some gastrointestinal pressure... You can tell when he gets full because he acts like it is this huge effort to open his mouth. I love the distraction time finger foods buys for me!

Snow!!!

After 7-1/2 months of life Field has already gotten 2 snow days! He doesn't care much for the snow itself, but he loves to watch Maggie play in it. Today we have a bonus puppy, Marley (Maggie's sister) staying with us. Thanks for the snow suite Susu! We never figured he would get to actually wear it in the snow!

Field's new ability

Best fort ever!

Maybe he will like doing laundry more than Mommy and Daddy do...

Don't worry, I've got my hat. Bring on the ice.

My little escape artist...

If this determination to go against the rules doesn't scream Ted DeVit, I don't know what does!!! Turn down the volume, as usual, I am quite obnoxious!!!

Hanging out with Daddy at the shop

Catching some zzz's waitin' on my peeps to call

Just chillin'

:-D

And the baby proofing begins...

My toys???

Be jealous. Be very jealous.

We are really settling into our place in the food industry. This pic was our New Years dinner. It was so yummy with a small side of our shop mac & cheese.

We did a filet and lobster tail special at the shop that went off really well. The winter slows down business with exception to the days leading up to a holiday. It was good to be happy with the last day of the year, then finish it off with a killer dinner, and a sweet sweet baby who is turning into a pretty good sleeper (knock on wood).

Soooooooo much happened in 2010. We have been so blessed with the hardest, and most rewarding year of our lives thus far. So good bye 2010. It's been real!

Hello 2011, we are really looking forward to you. Except for the year end book keeping. Yuck!

Advice on this sleeping position???

Soooooo... Field started crawling crawling (well, army crawling at least) the day after Christmas. The day after that he discovered he could flip onto his tummy to do so. I know most babies have been doing that trick for a while, but Field was apparently not interested in it. Until he learned to scoot. Now I can hardly keep him on his back and he is insisting on sleeping on his face like this... EEK! I had just gotten over being insane about SIDS and now we are back to it! Any advice for a rook mommy?

Finally filling out!

Since it is winter we rarely get a good pic sans clothing so here you go! He is finally getting some chunk on his legs. I didn't think he was that skinny before, but compared to now he really was! Thank you Gerber Infant Cereal for carb loading my skinny little boy.

Happy Baby!

Puppy in the snow!

Most awesomest boots EVER!

Wiped out in his new chair

We had a very blessed holiday with lots of family in a very snowy GA. Thank you God for the birth of your Son! Field had a great first Christmas. He zonked out in his new chair when he tried to have his last bottle of the day. Merry Christmas Everyone! from Whit, Christina & Field!

Baby's First Christmas

Sweetest. Thing. Ever. I felt like a kid again walking up to Santa. Field did great, of course and we went early figuring we would have to wait in line but Santa was there early and we literally walked up and went right to Santa. That never happens!!!

Our (linear) Christmas tree

We put our tree up at the shop this year so we used the mantle as a non-tree shaped ornament hanger at home. It features 4 white and gold ornaments, 1 Ole Miss ornament, a guitar, and a new family picture in a "baby's first Christmas" ornament. I really like how it turned out and despite the most hectic Christmas I've ever had, I will not be doing any Christmas morning buying or wrapping because I am completely done! I was about 95% done by my birthday (Dec 13) and finished it up tonight. Big pat on my back!
